Narrator:  one early morning in june 1984 dr. mariano lacdao, manager of the center for energy and development- a division of the philippines energy company(pec) was in his office when his secretary informed him of an employee's request for an appointment with him before lunch time

sec: good morning sir
dr. L: yes? what can i do for you?
Sec: ahm... sir one of our employee request for an appointment with you before lunch time.
dr. L: since i don't have any schedule for today you can already tell her to come in my office
Sec: ok sir
Narrator: a few minutes later, the employee, sylvia gregorio knocked at his office and come in after playing the usual courtesy.

narrator:  after having a meeting with dr lacdao, sylvia went to her office and she open up to the secretary about her problem

narrator: recently, complaints were heard from the sections OIC about the inefficientcy of sylvia and her consistent disapperance from the office during work hours. joe, another staff member, had complained about sylvia but he hide his negative reactions on what sylvia's doing instead . he tell his problem to a german consultant who is very vocal. some how this consultant got an informationon salaries received by each staff inspite of  confidentiality rule on salary.
joe: yo know, there's something wrong about sylvia. she always left the office during lunch time and left the office early. she also fetched her children during work hours.would you think that is good to an employee?
consultant: yes your right there's something wrong about her she must manage her time. if it is an office hours it must be an office hours...she is not paid just to take her job easy and be happy go lucky. why she can'lt look for a maid to fetch and care her children during office hours?
joe: i don't know and i don't care about her private life. what i care is about her way of doing her job.
comsultant: ahm ok... maybe a look for a time to talk to her.
narrator: one time when sylvia was in UP, he came around looking her. he went to secretary and the discussion went as follows:

narrator: sylvia learned of what other where saying behind her back through the secretary, who was already a close friend of hers. But sylvia stigged these off and went on with her frequent absenteeism and leaves during office hours.one time after worked sylvia talk to her husband and approach him about her decision of resigning on her job.
sylvia: ahm tony how's your work?
tony: its ok., im doing fine with my job. how about you? i've notice that your salary are getting higher and higher.
sylvia: yes, but i think i don't want my job anymore. i feel that i like more in the university than in the center because in the university  i can see the results of my effort after a semester. ahm what can you say about my decision?
tony: ahm.. for me? i have no objection with your decision as long as you are happy doing that job. its fine with me andd besides you can find more time for our children.
sylvia: yes your right thanks for your understanding
narrator: one afternoon when sylvia went to UP to fetch her children she talked with some prof.
prof 1: oh sylvia how are you? are going to fetch your children?
sylvia: oh yes, i live my job for a while just to fetch them
prof 2: oh by the way i remember that one time you ask if we are looking for a physics teacher here. i just found out this morning that they are looking for a physics teacher to hire.
prof, 1: are you going to have a part time job here in university
syl: no , im planning to work here but no as a part-tme job.
prif.1: are going to resign to your job now?
prof. 2: but why?
syl: i just love being teacher than analyst
prof.2: well i  resoect your decision
prof1: you are still very much welcome here.
narrator: on another occasion, sylvia confined to the secretary her desire to leave the job and go back to the university to teach
